Neurology is the medical specialty that deals with the structural disorders of the nervous system. Specifically, the diagnosis and treatment of all categories of diseases involving the central, peripheral and autonomic, parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems including their coatings, blood vessels, and all effector tissues, such as muscles. The surgical specialist is neurosurgery.
