The Importance of Sleep?
Sleep is a periodic rest state – usually 8 hours – in which there is temporary withdrawal of voluntary sensory and motor activity. A rest period for the body and mind in which consciousness is in partial or complete inactivity.
During this period our organism performs very important functions with direct consequences to health. Sleep strengthens the immune system, releases the secretion of hormones – such as growth and insulin – consolidates memory, makes the skin more beautiful and healthy, and relax and rest the muscles.
